Jim Affeldt, Vice President | jim@haleykammerer.com
Jim’s involvement in the restaurant business started while in elementary school. He would work in the neighborhood pizza shop, sweeping, folding boxes, and taking out trash. Raised in Catonsville, Maryland, Jim was a three sport athlete while attending High School as a member of the football, wrestling, and lacrosse team. He was also the sports editor of the yearbook, and sang in chorale. After one year of playing football for Salisbury University, Jim transferred to Towson University and studied political science.
Throughout his 20s while looking for the “right” career, Jim always seemed to end up back in the restaurant business. He was the go-to when friends opened a restaurant and needed help, wherever it may be. He went on to become a Corporate Trainer for Outback Steakhouse, and Carrabbas Italian Grill.
In 2004, Jim moved down to the Delaware Beaches full-time and opened Tokyo Steakhouse in Lewes. Under his direction, Tokyo Steakhouse won Delaware Today’s award of Best New Steakhouse.
Jim began his career with SoDel in 2009 on a consulting project. He spent 2 years developing and overseeing Que Pasa, The Lighthouse, and The Cove restaurants in Dewey. Since then, Jim has taken on the role of Director of Operations for the company and has overseen four different restaurants develop from conception to opening.
Jim’s calling has always been in the restaurant industry, whatever the role may be. When not working, Jim enjoys being outside, traveling, or eating.
